All residential and commercial buildings within Prominence will bear the “Fortified…for safer living” distinction as identified by the Institute for Business & Home Safety for its comprehensive construction standards and techniques thereby making the home more disaster-resistant. Each home will be constructed with insulated concrete forms, a cost-effective material which provides increased structural strength, insulation and durability. ICF helps to eliminate problems generally associated with traditional wood framing such as termites, mold and water damage. Dietrich or Marinoware metal framing systems complement the installation of ICF and provides consistent strength and durability along with fire resistance. Pyro-Guard®, a treated wood product which is also fire retardant, will be used on all stairwells for homes and commercial buildings within Prominence where traditional framing is required. Kolbe Impact Windows are designed with great strength and durability to withstand hurricane force winds and flying debris.

Prominence will be a green-sensitive community with its energy-saving benefits. Geothermal heating and air conditioning is required in all homes and commercial businesses within Prominence. Hydro-Temp Earth Coupled Heat Pumps pull heat from the earth to warm the home during the winter. During the summer months, the same system pulls heat from your home and transfers it to the earth. Additionally, waste heat from the system can be used to heat water. This system redirects energy to the earth saving you on monthly expenses, eliminates the need for outside condenser units and is better for the environment. Each home will also include top-of-the-line fixtures and appliances that will bear the ENERGY STAR rating.
